GDC Marh organizes 2 days Maiden Orientation cum Induction Programme/ Deeksharambh for newly admitted students

JAMMU, OCTOBER 12: Deeksharambh committee in collaboration with IQAC, Government Degree College Marh, organized two days “Deeksharambh\Student orientation cum Induction Programme” for the newly admitted students of session 2023-24 .

Induction programme was inaugurated by chief guest Prof. Rakesh Kumar Koul Principal of the college by lightning the lamp along with SaraswatiVandana with faculty. The programme aimed to welcome the newly admitted students and to acquaint them with the college’s resources, faculty and different academic offerings. Principal of the college extended a warm welcome to the new students of FYUGPNEP 1st Semester. Principal in his Keynote address encouraged the students to work hard and motivated them to achieve their goals in life. In his address he stressed upon the rules and regulations being followed and ensured all sort of support from the college administration for their academic and co-curricular growth and holistic growth. He stressed on the need to follow the path of spiritualism.

 Madhvi Parasher, Convener Deeksharambh welcomed the freshers and introduced the students. She highlighted the college’s infrastructure, support services and the variety of courses available.

President and ExecutiveBody of Alumni Association of Govt. Degree College Marh, Atul Narayan Singh also graced the occasion and shared his experience and accomplishments of the college.

To build trust and connection with all the students the faculty members/staff of different disciplines (Ms. Anita Kumari, Mr. Imitiyaz Shahid, Ms. Madhvi Prasher, Ms. Ashu Jolly, Mr. Ram Dayal, Ms. Shallu Gupta, Ms. Anjana Chib, Ms. Asha Kumari, Dr. Balwinder Saini, Mr. Sachin Kumar Bhagat, Mr. Ravi Kumar, Dr. Sheetal Devi, Ms. Tanu Sharma, Dr. Brij Bir Singh, Dr. Sheetal Verma, Dr. Ruchika Kumari, Ms. Shifali Karloopia) of the college introduced themselves to the freshers and gave their blessings.

Dr. Balwinder Saini from the Department of Chemistry apprised the students by the way of extensive power point presentation about the attributes and salient features of National Education Policy-2020 from early childhood, secondary and higher level.He explained the National Education Policy NEP 2020 in detail vis-à-vis revised course structure, holistic and multidisciplinary approach of NEP 2020.A Slide show highlighting achievements of various activities and departments of the college was also showcased to the fresher’s by Prof. Shallu Gupta. Cultural programme including song, folk dances were also performed by the 3rd and 5th semester students of the College on this occasion to strengthen the bond with freshers.

Prerana Balgotra (IIIrd sem) and Shivani (Vth sem) skillfully moderated the proceedings of the programme. About 200 students of Ist semester and senior students attended the programme.

The Ist semester students especially females as feedback expressed their excitement and surprise that the Deeksharambh was a wonderful experience and were satisfied to choose the college.

Prof. Ram Dayal, Co-Convener Diksharambh presented the final vote of thanks. The whole programme was organised and coordinated by the members of Deeksharambh committee. At the end refreshment was also served to the students.
