DSPCA meeting held in Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, October 13: Deputy Commissioner, Saloni Rai, presided over a meeting of the District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) at the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office Udhampur.
The meeting covered a wide range of important topics, including funding for the construction of a rehabilitation center, cattle sheds, and other essential infrastructure. Sterilization and vaccination programs, as well as awareness campaigns, were also discussed. The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer began the meeting by providing an overview of the committee’s formation and its objectives.
At the meeting, the DC highlighted the District SPCA’s core mission, which is to protect the rights, freedoms, and welfare of animals and address issues related to animal cruelty. She ordered the CEO MC to implement a challan system for managing stray animals in the town and urged all relevant officials to expand SPCA membership to strengthen it.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed concerned officers to conduct awareness programs about the SPCA in the district. He also urged the expeditious establishment of animal shelters and other facilities to support animals that are unable to work.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia, DFO Rushal Garg, Additional SP, Anwar-Ul-Haq, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer and Chief Executive Officer MC along with members of the SPCA.
