Ladakh Scouts defeat D’Meadows Drass by four goals to win Horse Polo LG Cup
Dras (Ladakh) [India], October 25 (ANI): Ladakh Scouts emerged victorious in the 3rd edition of the Horse Polo LG Cup by defeating D’Meadows Drass with a four-goal lead in the final match on Wednesday in Drass near Kargil.
The championship saw a thrilling horse polo showdown between D’Meadows Drass and Ladakh Scouts. Following a gripping contest, the Ladakh Scouts Leh Horse Polo team secured the championship by defeating D’Meadows with a decisive four-goal advantage.
On the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of LG Polo Cup 2023, Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Mohammad Jaffar Akhon, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, Abdul Wahid, Councillor Bhimbat constituency, Abdul Samad councillor upper constituency Drass, chairpersons BDCs lower and upper constituencies, and Sarpanches of Drass among others were present at international Horse playfield.
A huge gathering of spectators was present to witness the final match of the horse polo 3rd edition LG polo Cup 2023 at the International Horse polo playfield.
Chief Executive Councillor Mohammed Jaffer Khan was the chief guest and congratulated the winning team of the tournament. He further asserted that the Council will try its best to construct a playground for the players and will construct a cable car in Drass subdivision to promote tourism in the region.
The Chief Executive Councillor felicitated the horse polo players as the winning team Ladakh Scouts Leh with 30,000 rupees.
While the second-placed team was rewarded with rupees 15000 and prizes were also felicitated among the participants for their outstanding performance in the 3rd edition LG Horse polo tournament at international Horse polo Playfield Drass.
