Road Safety Week: Artists perform Cultural programme on Road Safety in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JANUARY 17: A series of activities to raise awareness among the masses with respect to road safety marked the culmination of National Road Safety Week-2023 themed ‘Swachtha Pakhwada’ at Anantnag.

On this occasion, Motor Vehicle Department Anantnag organised Valedictory function at Govt Degree College for Women Anantnag, here during which Theatre, Skit and Ladishah was performed by Tulkul Media Art with the theme ‘Safe Driving’.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ah Wani presided over the function.

Speaking at the event, the ADDC presented his views regarding safety measures to be taken while driving before the audience which included the staff of MVD, students, transporters and representatives of all the Pollution Checking Centres and Automobile Dealers of the district.

Earlier, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo briefed the chief guest about week-long activities conducted across the district through a PowerPoint presentation. He stressed on the continuation of awareness campaigns at different levels to educate masses regarding observance of traffic rules and regulations while plying vehicles.

DySP Traffic Anantnag, Dr Idrees presented a vote of thanks to the participants.

At the end awards (mementos/ certificates) were distributed by the dignitaries among the participants who played an active role in successful conduct of the 34th National Road Safety Week, 2023.

The programme was attended by CMO, DMO, Principal GDC Women, DEPO besides students, traffic union representatives, Drivers, media fraternity etc.
