Central University of Jammu Inaugurates Two-Week Online Faculty Development Programme in Chemistry and Allied Sciences FDPCAS – 2023 (Refresher Course)

 JAMMU, October 26: Two-Week Online Faculty Development Programme in Chemistry and Allied Sciences FDPCAS – 2023 (Refresher Course) is being organized by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, Central University of Jammu during 26th October-08th November, 2023.

Prof. V. Sridharan is the Convenor and Dr. Princy Gupta is the Co-convener of this FDP. This Faculty Development Programme is specifically designed to discuss and deliberate the recent advances in chemical and allied sciences. The faculty members of Chemistry and other allied subjects of Colleges/Universities, early-career researchers, academicians and other participants will have a great opportunity to learn from an esteemed panel of experts who shall be delivering talks on various emerging areas of chemistry and sharing their experiences and perspectives relating to newer methods/techniques used in teaching and research. In this FDP, panels of 34 speakers have been Invited from well reputed institutions including IISc, IITs, IISERs, Central and State Universities.

 The event was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Prof. Kamal K. Kapoor, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu, Prof. Deepak Pathania, Dean Research Studies, CUJ, Prof. Sunil Dhar, Dean School of Life Sciences, CUJ, Prof. V. Sridharan, Head and Convener, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, CUJ and Dr. Princy Gupta, Assistant Professor and Co-Convener.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev jain highlighted that this event will enable the young minds to have interactions and inspirations from eminent scientists.

Prof. Kamal Kapoor emphasized the need of high-quality research in his inauguration speech. On wishing the success of the event, Prof. Deepak Pathania talked about the importance of chemistry in day-to-day life and emphasized the need of lifting the boundaries in different fields of science. Prof. Sunil Dhar said that such events are aimed to motivate quality research in the emerging areas of chemistry. Prof. V. Sridharan extended his gratitude to the participants who have registered the event from various parts of the country. The inaugural function was ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Princy Gupta.
