Two drug peddlers arrested with 2.25 kilograms of Charas-like substance in Srinagar
In a significant operation against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have apprehended two alleged drug peddlers, identified as Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh and Mohd Ashraf Sofi.

The arrest came after the suspects were found in possession of a substantial quantity of a Charas-like substance, weighing approximately 2.25 kilograms. A case has been registered under FIR No. 156/2023 under Section 8/20, 29 in accordance with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, at the Ram Bagh Police Station.
The two accused Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ab Salam, a resident of Kathi Darwaza, and Mohd Ashraf Sofi, son of Gh Qader, from Nowhatta, were taken into custody after a comprehensive investigation revealed their alleged involvement in the illicit drug trade.
The police are conducting further investigations to trace the source and distribution network of the confiscated contraband.
