GDC Nubra, Ladakh Police observe Police Martyrs Week

LEH, October 30: Govt. Degree College, Nubra in collaboration with Ladakh Police, Police Station, Diskit, Nubra observed Police Martyrs Week on October 28.

On this occasion, a declamation contest themed, ‘The Legacies of Police Martyrs’ was conducted in the college multipurpose hall. The students from various Higher Secondary Schools of Nubra and Govt. Degree College, Nubra participated in the contest.

Principal Dr. Tsewang Motup welcomed the participants, where he emphasized upon the heroic role played by the Police Personnel in the line of duty.

Participants spoke elaborately on the sacrifices and hardships made by the Police Martyrs in order to maintain law and order in the society.

The contest was judged by SHO Diskit, Rigzen Wangchuk, Assistant Professor in History, Dr. Padma Lhamo, and Assistant Professor in Political Science, Rinchen Angmo.

Tenzin Nyima, a student of Class 11th  Govt. Higher Secondary School, Diskit Nubra secured the first position, while Zahra Batul, a student of Semester- I Govt. Degree College, Nubra secured the second position and Sanju Kumari, a student of Semester- I Govt. Degree College, Nubra secured the third position.

Later, certificates and cash prize of Rs. 1500/-, 1000/- and 500/- respectively were distributed to the winners.

In the end, SHO Diskit, Rigzen Wangchuk, presented the vote of thanks.
