Infrastructure, Academic Reforms and New Appointments- Key Thrust
Jammu, October 31: The 8th Court Meeting of Central University of Jammu was held in the university campus under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Chancellor, Ambassador G. Parthasarathy. In his opening remarks, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain extended a warm welcome to Hon’ble Chancellor and other members of Court for guiding and working relentlessly for the growth of CUJ.
The Chancellor expressed satisfaction at the infrastructural, construction and academic growth of the University. Thereafter, the Vice Chancellor shared his vision of attaining institutional excellence through a collective and collaborative effort. The Vice Chancellor also shared that quantum leave in infrastructure, research and academic excellence.
The Registrar Prof. Yashwant Singh took up the agenda item of Court and underscored university perspective plan wherein construction activities have been prioritized.
After considering the action taking report in pursuance of the decisions taken in the 7th meeting of the Court of the University held on 22nd March 2022, The annual reports of the university for the years 2022-23 were presented before the Court of the university for Consideration. The annual accounts for the financial years 2021-22 & 2022-23 duly recommended by the Finance Committee approved by the Executive Council.
Further the Court was informed that the Progress of HEFA project for construction of university building wherein two hostels (01 Boys & 01 Girls, 500 students each), One Academic Block, One LAB and Library cum Administrative Block total cost of Rs. 123 Crore.
The Vice Chancellor informed the Court about various reforms taken in the University which are adoption of MODDLE LMS which is worldwide accepted MLS: Degrees to be issued to the students in NAD (National Academic Depository) so that they can access the degree online: Internship of students and Indian Knowledge Systems courses for teaching and research. Further Vice Chancellor Prof. Jain highlighted that four buildings are simultaneously being constructed in the university along with the sports facility basketball and badminton court.
Further the Vice Chancellor informed the Court that Section-8 Company CUJ Site Council is being formed to foster research and development and entrepreneurship to spawn knowledge intensive that would develop relevant innovations useful to the society as a whole. Other achievements in the pipeline are Community Radio, Nano Satellite to be launched and moving towards the NAAC accreditation and other international accreditation bodies. The meeting was attended by Deans, Directors and Officials of the University.
