Vigilance Awareness week: Vigilance awareness programme organized at GDC Kulgam

KULGAM, November 31: Under the ongoing vigilance awareness week, the District Administration Kulgam today organized a vigilance awareness programme at Government Degree College Kulgam.

The programme was attended by Principal GDC Kulgam, officers and representatives of DVO Kulgam and other district officers and officials from various departments.

During the programme, awareness speeches were delivered by Principal GDC Kulgam, Prof. Syed Eazaz Hussain Rizvi; Prosecuting Officer Munsif Court Qazigund, Abdul Bari; DIO NIC Nadeem Yousuf and other resource persons.

On the occasion, measures being taken by the government to put an end to corruption, including switch over to e- Governance, disbursement of welfare benefits of various schemes of the Government in a transparent manner through the DBT initiative, implementation of e-tendering in public procurement, simplification of procedure and other measures were highlighted.

It was informed that the objective of the programme is to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of bribery and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by the corruption.

Resource persons from Judiciary deliberated on various Acts and added that the focus area of the awareness day is to spread greater awareness to the general masses as well as local committees.
