Relief Cheque provided to NoK of road accident victims

UDHAMPUR, November 01: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, in the presence of Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Romesh Kumar Smotra today handed over relief Cheques amounting to Rs 7.25 lakh as interim assistance to the Next of Kin (NoK) of nine individuals who lost their lives or were injured  in road accidents.

The financial support was provided under the Jammu and Kashmir Road Accident Victims Fund Act-2021

The primary aim of this fund is to offer immediate relief to the dependents, family members, and legal heirs of individuals who are either killed or injured in road accidents involving passenger and private vehicles etc.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the ARTO to expedite the processing of other cases and ensure that financial assistance is provided to all eligible road accident victims in accordance with established norms.
