The rally was organized by Congress Sewa Dal Chief Vijay Sharma Babbi, Block President Mandeep Singh & Pardeep Bhalla.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will create history in J&K. Response to Bharat Jodo Yatra is unprecedented, it will create history,” he said. The overwhelming response that the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ has been receiving has taken political observers by surprise. As the yatra progresses, Rahul Gandhi is emerging as a different leader altogether, energetic, inspiring, and popular.
Amid these circumstances, he said, ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is not only enabling a massive contact program for the Congress but also introducing itself once again to the ground. The yatra, he adds, is also effectively rejuvenating the cadres of the party who have long remained dormant. Further, the party is collecting real-time feedback on key issues from marginalized communities, beleaguered farmers, and unemployed youth.
Bhalla goes on to add enthusiastically, “Rahul Gandhi’s presence plays a huge role. His speeches, will, composure and even his physical fitness are inspiring the party workers and leaders around him. They are willing and keen to give it all, whatever it takes.” According to him, even the leaders and workers, who are above 65 years, walked for miles. The level of animation and the spirit among the cadres is unprecedented. Since the inception of the yatra, the aim of this campaign is not to win the elections but to rejuvenate the party at the grassroots and spread awareness among the citizens about the issues that the country is grappling with. Bhalla said yatra “is a mass mobilization campaign, and it is not aiming at the upcoming elections. It is a campaign to unite India against the divisive forces”.
Bhalla said that yatra is no longer a Congress party movement. Yes, there are a lot of Congress people but it’s a people’s movement. People from all shades, people who used to criticise us, people who were bitterly opposed to us, they all have joined hands for the sake of the nation. And that’s why the BJP is running helter-skelter and is scared, added Bhalla.”Bhalla further said that Yatra has attracted thousands across age groups, castes, religions and economic strata, has generated curiosity and hope in civil society and prompted some to shed their negative opinion about Rahul Gandhi. “The toxic politics and rising economic inequality created so much cynicism. The Bharat Jodo Yatra finally demolishes the perception that secularism is not central to our politics. Rahul Gandhi is not meeting only political workers, he is meeting ordinary citizens, representatives of different social and business groups and activists, added Bhalla .
Yogesh Sawhney speaking on the occasion alleged that the BJP has pushed the Jammu and Kashmir into unprecedented political uncertainty by failing to maintain law and order and indulging in politics of hate.”BJP ever since getting access to power in Delhi had been on a rampage of dispossessing and disempowering common people of Jammu and Kashmir. It’s not about a particular community or a sect, they have went berserk against all of us collectively. We have been used as political cannon fodders by BJP all across the country”, Sawhney said. He said people want change, as the BJP has failed on all fronts of governance especially unchecked price rise, record unemployment besides other anti-employees, anti-trade, anti-poor politics in J&K.”The people of Jammu and Kashmir have only one option to fight this monster of hate and discrimination, that option is the Indian National Congress, the only party which hasn’t and which will never cozy with BJP,” he said
Congress Sewa Dal Chief Vijay Sharma Babbi said that people of all sections have turned against the BJP, that’s why elections are being delayed fear of losing polls.”The fact is that the BJP government has failed to deliver to the people on all fronts and would be wiped out of J&K whenever assembly elections take place here”. Babbi alleged that Jammu has witnessed huge setbacks due to the revocation of statehood by the BJP government including seizing of jobs, land, and the suppression of political and civil rights. He also castigated the Centre for remaining busy in rhetoric rather than doing work on ground. He said that the situation on ground zero in J&K is contrary to the claims of the BJP leadership over colossal development and lasting peace.
Block President Mandeep Singh & Pardeep Bhalla in their address appealed to the people of J&K to reject “the pro-rich and anti-youth” BJP for peace and prosperity in the region. They slammed the BJP government for using public money for polishing their own image through massive advertisement. The fact is that the BJP government has failed to deliver to the people on all fronts and would be wiped out of J&K whenever assembly elections take place here. They said Congress will create awareness among the general public about the failures of the government and the drawbacks of not having the status of being a state. They said that Jammu has witnessed huge setbacks due to the revocation of statehood by the BJP Government including the seizing of jobs, land, and the suppression of political and civil rights. The Centre should accept the demand for restoration of statehood to J&K in the interest of the Constitution and democracy, they stated.
