Director Horticulture conducts comprehensive tour of Kupwara, assesses progress of various developmental works
Convenes meeting at Chandigam-A, Sogam as Prabhari Officer, takes comprehensive review of developmental initiatives across departments
SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 06: The Director Horticulture Kashmir, G. R. Mir conducted a comprehensive tour of district Kupwara and made significant visits to key horticultural facilities, besides engaging with departmental staff.
During the tour, the Director actively assessed the progress of various developmental works and addressed critical issues within the region.
On the occasion, the Director visited Fruit Plant Nursery, Zangam Pattan, Baramulla, where he meticulously evaluated the operations and provided essential directives to enhance efficiency and productivity. He underlined the importance of bolstering the nursery’s performance for the betterment of the horticulture sector in the area.
Subsequently, Director Horticulture proceeded to the Fruit Plant Nursery in Chougal Handwara, where he closely examined the ongoing activities and offered valuable guidance to the staff to optimize their efforts and resources. His visit aimed to ensure that the nursery continues to serve as a hub for nurturing quality fruit plants.
The Director also visited the Hi-Tech Walnut Nursery in Chandigam, where he highlighted the critical role of walnut cultivation in the region’s Horticultural landscape. He shared insights into further promoting hi-tech techniques in walnut production for the benefit of local farmers and the overall economy.
Mir, who is also the Prabhari Officer for Panchayat Halqa Chandigam-A, Sogam convened a crucial meeting there which brought together representatives from various government departments. The meeting served as a platform for a comprehensive review of developmental initiatives across departments such as Jal shakti, KPDCL, Revenue, R&B, RDD schemes, Health, Education, Agriculture and Horticulture.
During this meeting, Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members presented their concerns and issues to the Director. In response, it was directed that the Secretary Panchayat would compile a comprehensive report addressing these concerns, to be forwarded to the relevant authorities for prompt resolution.
