DC Bandipora reviews District Irrigation Plan under PMKSY

Directs for successful implementation of DIP

BANDIPORA, November 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday convened a meeting of the District Level Committee to review the District Irrigation Plan under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).

The meeting was held to discuss and strategize the effective implementation of the irrigation plan to enhance agricultural productivity and rural development in the district.

It evaluated the progress made in the implementation of the District Irrigation Plan under PMKSY, and identify areas that require further attention and improvement.

During the meeting, Dr Owais stressed the importance of irrigation in increasing agricultural yield, ensuring food security, and promoting sustainable agriculture practices in the district.

He emphasized the need for effective water management and the optimal utilization of available water resources to benefit the farming community.

The meeting threadbare discussed status of ongoing irrigation projects in the district, budget allocation and utilization for irrigation schemes; monitoring and evaluation of irrigation infrastructure; ensuring the timely completion of irrigation projects; farmer engagement and feedback for improving irrigation practices.

It was given out that the District Level Committee (DLC) has devised an action plan to expedite the implementation of irrigation projects, monitor their progress and address any challenges that may arise during the process.

Dr Owais called for continued cooperation and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the District Irrigation Plan under PMKSY.

The meeting was attended by ADDC/ACD Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, DFO Bandipora and Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora besides officials from horticulture department, flood and irrigation and rural development department.
