District Vigilance Committee conducts social audit of ration distribution in Ramban

Chairperson DDC reviews stock supply position  

RAMBAN, January 18: Chairperson District Development Council, Ramban Shamshad Shan today discussed the procedure for social audit   of Ration distribution here in the   District Vigilance Committee meeting, besides reviewing recommendations of Village and Block Level Committees.

The meeting was attended by Vice -Chairperson DDC, Rabia Hamid,  members of District Development council, AD FCS&CA Shoaib Latief and other concerned officers.

The Chairperson said that Ramban is the first district to complete social Audit by conducting District Vigilance Committee meeting under which a threadbare discussion was held about maintenance of records of Fair price shops, display of rate list and proper distribution of ration in the district.

The Chairperson also reviewed the stock, supply position, distribution system, grievance redressal system and other related matters. She appreciated the FCS&CA Department for its performance in ensuring uninterrupted supply of ration to the consumers especially in far flung areas during adverse weather conditions.

She also urged to maintain the quality of food grains distributed by the department and said there can be no compromise with the quality of food and asked the officials to have regular checks and tests of the food grains to ensure that quality ration is provided to the consumers.
