District Level Kala Utsav-2023 organised at Doda to Promote local Cultural and Traditional
DODA, NOVEMBER 09: The Department of School Education today hosted the District Level Kala Utsav-2023 here at Government Higher Secondary School Boys to foster cultural and traditional music appreciation among students. The initiative, launched in 2015 by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, aims to showcase and nurture artistic talent among school students nationwide.
Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh, marked his introductory appearance as the new Deputy Commissioner and chief guest. The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest. The competition featured various categories, including Vocal Classical-Music, Vocal Music-Traditional Folk, Instrumental Music-Percussion, Instrumental Music-Melodic, Dance-Classical, Dance-Folk, Visual Arts(2D), Visual Arts(3D), Indigenous Toys and Games, and Drama (Solo Acting) etc.
The DC enjoyed the cultural activities during the program and also inspected the beautiful stalls of different schools depicting the different colours of our traditional and art forms.
The District Level Kala Utsav showcased vibrant forms of art, with participants from different schools across the district. Melodious voices and diverse dance forms, including folk and classical, captivated the audience. The celebration was graced by Chief Education Officer Parshuram Dass Goria, Principal Arshad Rahat of Government Higher Secondary School Doda, and Nodal Officer Tanvir Ahmed Wani. The event’s anchor, Om Prakash Bhagat, added charm to the cultural program. The competition’s jury comprised lecturers, masters, and teachers with expertise in various art forms and music, ensuring fair evaluation of the participants.
