B2V5: Day 1 Commences amid spirited public participation across 104 Panchayats in Rajouri District

RAJOURI, November 09: The transformative Back to Village Phase-V initiative commenced with verve across Rajouri district, where a multitude of activities are underway as part of this momentous public outreach program.

Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal, the first day of this ambitious program  commenced amid spirited public participation across 104 panchayats of six blocks of the district including Budhal New, Budhal Old, Manjakote, Moughla,  Rajouri and Thanamandi. What makes this day truly special is the overwhelming participation of the villagers, who are exuding enthusiasm and applauding the proactive efforts of the Government.

Following the successful implementations of B2V1, B2V2, B2V3, and B2V4, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has embarked on its fifth edition of Back to Village. This exceptional endeavor aims to bring governance to the very doorsteps of rural communities while fostering active community engagement.

The dedicated officers Prabharis across various panchayats, have convened crucial meetings with key stakeholders, department officials, and members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs). These discussions have revolved around addressing the core challenges and issues faced by these panchayats.

A diverse range of activities has been initiated, including the collection of comprehensive lists that encompass new projects commencing, ongoing projects and successfully completed projects funded through PRI grants, district plan, UT plan, MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) initiatives, as well as schemes from different government departments. Lists of beneficiaries of awas plus, pension schemes, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and agriculture-related programs are also being collected meticulously.

During the event, the designated officers have also lent a compassionate ear to the grievances expressed during these sessions, documenting each concern, and assuring the local community that their legitimate demands and issues will be addressed in a phased and systematic manner.

The people of Rajouri district have expressed their admiration for the steadfast efforts of the Government to connect with them on their own turf and attentively listen to their concerns. It is a true reflection of participatory governance and community-led development, showcasing the potential for positive change at the grassroot level.
