39 Panchayats to be covered in 2nd Phase

VOs discussed important public issues, inspected functioning of several public welfare establishments

GANDERBAL, November 09: The fifth phase of the ‘Back to Village’ programme is in full swing across Ganderbal district.

The first leg of the programme concluded today in 46 Panchayats of the district where in all the visiting officers conducted public outreach programmes to take on spot appraisal of the issues and grievances of the people.

On day two, visiting officers (VOs) listened to the aspirations of the people and took feedback to ensure effective implementation of developmental schemes and highlight their issues and grievances to the higher ups.

During the programme, visiting officers held Gram Sabhas and informed people about the centrally sponsored schemes for the welfare of the general public.

Meanwhile, YSS Ganderbal conducted a wide range of sports activities in various Panchayats of the district in which a number of enthusiastic youth/students took an active part.  

Almost 916 youth/students players of the concerned Panchayats participated in different sports events.

Visiting Officers interacted with the public and undertook review of progress achieved on the developmental works with special focus on improving socio-economic conditions of local population and improvement made in public services delivery mechanism. They also inspected Health Centres, Education institutions, Anganwadi Centres and other public welfare establishments and took stock of their functioning. 

Visiting Officers highlighted the importance of conducting 5th phase of “Back to village” programmes which are being conducted to assess development on ground and bring administration at the door steps of people to listen to their developmental issues and demands.

Pertinently, 39 Panchayats will be covered under the 2nd phase of B2V-5 commencing tomorrow.
