Amrit Kaal Vimarsh Vikasit Bharat@2047: Amar Singh College hosts Visionary Lecture by CEO SSCL
SRINAGAR, November 09: The Amar Singh College Cluster University Srinagar in collaboration with the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR) today organized a Lecture by Athar Amir Khan, Municipal Commissioner and CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL).
The theme of the lecture was Making New India: Infrastructure Connectivity and Development and was conducted in line with the Lecture and Dialogue series as part of the Amrit Kaal: Vimarsh Viksit Bharat@2047.
The objective of the Vimarsh is to stir debates about the development prospects of India and to work out the modalities and road map for infrastructure development and connectivity.
The Vimarsh will also focus on transforming India into a developed nation where the development benefits reach every corner and every citizen as the country celebrates its 100 years of independence in 2047.
The programme commenced with the felicitation of the guests and was followed by the welcome address by Prof (Dr.) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, principal Amar Singh College and Nodal Principal Kashmir Division Colleges.
In his address, the Principal accentuated the vision of Amrit Kaal, which would represent an empowered and inclusive economy. He also pointed out that there is in the country a spirit of certainty about the vision of Vikasit Bharat and it is impossible to dispute India’s inexorable economic rise.
Dr. Avtar Singh, Senior Consultant ICSSR, Punjab University, Chandigarh also graced the occasion. In his address, he provided a thorough introduction to the ICSSR, and also apprised the students and faculty about the different schemes that can be availed from the council.
The CEO SSCL in his address apprised the students about the smart city project and what modalities were followed during the layout and planning of the project. The speaker also laid bare the future vision of Srinagar city where every service will be integrated for the citizens of the city and also accentuated the need for responsible citizenship.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session with the students and many thought-provoking and stimulating ideas were exchanged between the speaker and the students.
