Celebrations of Legal Services Day: Weeklong activities conclude at Bandipora
BANDIPORA, November 09: To commemorate Legal Service Day, weeklong activities carried out by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committees culminated on Thursday, here.
Under the aegis of JK Legal Services Authority, and under the guidance of Member Secretary JK Legal Services Authority, Amit Gupta, DLSA Bandipora and TLSCs of Bandipora organised a weeklong programme from November 03 to November in view of Legal Services Week/Day.
During the programme, various legal awareness programmes, door to door camps and rallies were conducted. The programmes were conducted with the objective to offer the free of charge, proficient and competent legal services to the weaker sections of the society and equal justice to the marginalized and disadvantaged sector which include women, disabled persons, scheduled tribes, children and scheduled castes.
Resource persons disseminated the awareness to the public pertaining to various NALSA Schemes. Awareness programmes/ rallies were held under the supervision of secretary, DLSA Bandipora, Nusrat Ali Hakak.
During the course of weeklong programme, door to door awareness campaign was conducted by para legal volunteers in far flung villages of district Bandipora including, Panhar, Hudbal, Ahmshareef, Shahpora and Badwan area of Gurez besides Asham, Inderkote, Parbal and Budgund area of Sumbal
During the campaign, people interacted with the PLVs to address their problems and to procure appropriate advice and guidance.
DLSA Bandipora in collaboration with TLSC Bandipora also organized a Legal Literacy programme on rights of Senior citizens and legal Remedies available to them under NALSA Schemes at Ahat-e-Waqar, Bandipora.
The weeklong programmes concluded by organizing a rally, to spread awareness among the general public on Free Access to Justice and Free Legal Aid & Remedies available to the Women, Minorities, Poor, Downtrodden, marginalized and weaker sections of the society.
The rally started from Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Plan Bandipora, and culminated at Industrial Training Institute, Bandipora.
All the students and faculty members of the said institution, Officials and PLVs from DLSA Bandipora participated in the rally with great enthusiasm and zeal.
