DC Leh chairs DMC meeting under Swadesh Darshan 2.0
LEH, November 9: Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhdeve chaired a meeting of Destination Management Committees ( DMC) under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 to discuss the implementation of the scheme today at VC room.
During the meeting, Subhabrata Roy from the PDMC team provided a presentation on the project background, inception report, master plan report, and DPR Iteration for Leh, including land approval and destination activities.
DC Leh urged the agency to submit the iteration at the earliest to gather input from stakeholders. He also emphasized the importance of developing sites around the Leh town within a 50 km radius.
He added that the aim is to attract more tourists and encourage them to stay longer in Ladakh. Further, added that sustainable tourism promotion is a key focus for Leh’s future development.
He also emphasized the need to ensure that properties and sites are developed in a manner that does not exploit the region.
The stakeholders present at the meeting provided valuable feedback and suggestions.
DC Leh assured the UT administration and district administration’s assistance in clearing land and resolving any other issues to ensure that the project progresses smoothly and stays on track with its timelines.
