DC Baramulla chairs Weekly Block Diwas programme at Kandi Rafiabad
Said District Administration is committed for the welfare of the people
BARAMULLA, JANUARY 18: Continuing Public Outreach Programme (Block Diwas) across the district and in order to take first hand appraisal of the issues of general public at their door steps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today visited Kandi block of Rafiabad where she chaired a day long Block Diwas programme and listened to the various issues and demands of people.
Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad besides other functionaries of concerned departments were present in the block diwas programme.
The Public Outreach Programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of public where various delegations and scores of individuals projected their demands and sought timely resolution
On the occasion, people put forth several demands including macdamization and widening of main roads in and around Kandi and the connectivity from Kandi to Qaziabad of Kupwara district besides upgradation of educational institutions, Health Centre at Kandi, development of play fields in the area and rural electrification of Kandi Rafiabad.
Deployment of subject teachers in HSS Kandi Rafiabad, potable water facilities and electrification in Kandi Rafiabad were also among the major demands of the people.
After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC assured that District Administration is committed towards all round development of the district and also assured them that all their issues and demands shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal.
While extending appreciation to all the departments, the DC said that Baramulla district has achieved a milestone by securing 3rd Delta Rank by NITI AYOG and the district was awarded with Award Money of Rs. 3 Crores which will be utilized for the welfare of the people.
The DC further said that the administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution.
