Modi govt committed to ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against terrorism: Vibodh

Success rate in anti-militancy operations gone up: Vibodh

JAMMU, November 18: Addressing a public meeting in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu and Kashmir BJP general secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta said that the killing of five militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba in gun battle with security forces in Kulgam district of Kashmir Valley and elimination of a foreign terrorist of the same outfit in Budhal tehsil of Rajour district, is a big achievement of the Indian security forces.

Vibodh  appreciated the action of security forces against the militants in the Union Territory. He said that every such operation takes the graph of peace resorting efforts up and also sends a clear message that the militancy is at its last leg in Jammu and Kashmir and people are taking up their day to day activities fearlessly in every part of this border state, now UT.

Vibodh said that the success rate in operations against militancy has gone up during the last few years as the union government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that there will be zero tolerance on militancy in the Indian Territory. He said that gone are the days when the army and other security forces had to watch towards the central government for signal to act against militants.

“Today the local army commanders are authorised to decide and take action in anti-militancy operations. It brings success in eliminating the gun carrying trained militants and also there are less casualties of the Indian jawans due to quick and timely retaliation and attack on hideouts”, he added.

Vibodh said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered a lot due to the Pakistan sponsored militancy and thousands of precious human lives have been lost and immovable properties of crores of rupees damaged. This militancy also forced the innocent Kashmiri pandits and other minorities to leave Kashmir.

“Now the elimination of militants on almost daily basis is reported and a handful of surviving militants do target the security forces and the civilians to show their presence but this too will come to end in future”, Vibodh said and added that one can assume that complete peace and normalcy will be restored in J&K as our security forces are bravely fighting the proxy war waged by Pakistan.

Jammu South district general secretary Akash Chopra, while addressing the public meeting, highlighted the achievements of Narendra Modi government and urged the people to support BJP overwhelmingly to see Modi as PM for third term.

Mandal president Lucky Puri spoke on major developmental works undertaken in Trikuta Nagar and said that the people are the best judge and are convinced that BJP councillors have done splendid work.
