NSF constitutes Jammu University unit; Umar Farooq nominated as president
JAMMU, Nov 23: National Secular Forum (NSF) today constituted its Jammu University unit and Mohd Umar Farooq appointed as the President, Vineet Gupta as Chairman, Aditya Kargotra as Working President and Atul Sharma as Senior Vice-President of the University Unit.
Gourav partap Singh and Ashfaq Ahmed were appointed as Vice-President. Vikas Sharma and Rahul Sharma were appointed as General Secretary while Jatin Sharma, Gorav Chiber, Umar Shafi, Saleem Malik, Faayez Iqbal were appointed as Secretaries. Rajnesh Singh, Yogesh Kumar, Arun Singh, Avais shamim were appointed as Joint Secretary
Jatinder Singh as Publicity Secretary, Ayush Katoch as Press Secretary, Tarun Bhau as Media Incharge, Vipul Sharma as Media Co-Incharge, Tehraj Ahmed as Social Media Incharge while Vaneet Sharma, Viren Nagotra, Navdeep Jamwal, Younis Malik, Ajay Singh, Arun Sharma, Shivam and others were elected as Executive Members.
The body was constituted during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Vikshay Vashist State Secretary NSF, who also discussed various issues and demands of the students. J&K has been suffering badly due to misgovernance and there is nobody who listens to the grievances of youth, he said. He also said that unemployment is at an all time high in the present scenario which is the root cause of depression and anxiety among the young generation following which it is becoming a drug addict.
He further said that the National Secular Forum has always been in the forefront for raising the voice of the students vociferously. He asked the new President Jammu University to work against drug addiction and show good path to the youth.
District President Jammu, Roshan Sharma also addressed said that amongst others, the main aim and objective of NSF has been taking cognizance of problems of students and solving them on priority and that is why the students believe and trust the students-friendly policies of National Secular Forum. He urged that the trust of students’ community has to be maintained at all costs.
