Humanity Public School celebrates Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Jammu/ Samba: Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Gurpurab, is the most important festival for the followers of the Sikh religion.

The 554 th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated with great exuberance by Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana on 25 of November, 2023. A special assembly was conducted by the students & teachers to mark the occasion. The programme commenced with a prayer, Prabhat Pheri & Nagar kirtan in which students also guised as Panch Pyare. They paid tribute to Guru Nanak Dev by spreading his divine message of harmony, humility, & equality through poems, speeches & orations. Gurseerat of class 5 th & Sarabjeet of class 4 th explained the life history of Guru Nanak Dev Ji whereas Gurdev of 3rd A & Mehpreet of 2 nd E recited beautiful poems.

Mrs. Monika Saini, Primary Wing teacher also spoke on the significance of Gurpurab & teachings of Guru Nanak Dev through a beautiful poem. A melodious shabad was also presented by the students of class 8 th under the guidance & supervision of music teachers, Mr. Rajan & Mr. Abhilash.

The main attraction of the celebration was Gatka which was performed by boys of class 10 th , 11 th & 12 th that left audience spellbound. The intricate footwork & use of ‘Bhala’ (Spear) & Dhaal’ (Shield) was star attraction of the show. Prabhat Pheri was also joined by the Principal of the school, Mr. Gaurav Charak, Vice Principal, Mrs. Anku Charak, Senior Incharge, Mr. Akashdeep Raina, Hr. Sec Wing
Incharge, Mr. Keshav Raj Sharma, Senior Wing Incharge, Ms. Namrta Sharma, Primary Wing Incharge, Mrs. Vandana Sharma, Pre-Primary Wing Incharge, Mrs. Aparna Billowaria, IT Incharge Er. Varinder Kumar, Activity Incharge, Mrs. Meenu Khajuria & the Sports Incharge, Mr. Mahan Singh.

At last, the Principal of the school, Mr. Gaurav Charak enlightened the students to follow the path & principles of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He further told students to follow the path of humility & help the poor & needy, follow honest means of living & to keep faith in God also. The programme ended with the words of wisdom by the Vice- Principal, Mrs. Anku Charak who accentuated on the need of celebrating such occasion with great zeal & enthusiasm.
