Special Enrollment camps for new electors held in Kupwara-AC

KUPWARA, November 28: In order to ensure saturation of eligible voters and on the directions of District Election Officer Kupwara, Special Enrollment Camps for Assembly Constituency Kupwara were launched today.

On the occasion, large numbers of students who have attained or are likely to attain the age of 18 years by 01.01.2024 were registered.

District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Kupwara, Hidaitullah Mir, designated as dedicated Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for Kupwara-AC, along with his team and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting Registration cum Awareness camps in various Educational Institutions falling in the geographical limits of Kupwara constituency during which all the eligible voters who have attained the age of majority will be enrolled.

The electors were apprised about the procedure entailed for the purpose to enable them to exercise their right to vote.

Further, the participants were enlightened about the process of filing advance claims for registration through online portals like NVSP/VHA/VP etc in order to bring them under the ambit of electoral process.

These special camps have been organized in view of the prevalence of Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) and prospective electors in these educational institutions.

Meanwhile, it was informed that these special camps shall continue for 3 days and 9 Educational Institutions of Kupwara-AC will be covered.
