Comm Secy I&C chairs Public Darbar at Poonch

POONCH, NOVEMBER 29 : Commissioner Secretary , Industries and Commerce (I&C), Vikramjit Singh today chaired a Public Darbar at Dak Bunglow, Surankote here, wherein he listened to the issues and grievances of general public.

The darbar draw diverse delegations from civil society, PRIs , DDC and BDC members, elected members of municipality, religious heads, Vyapar mandal and lawyer delegations, among members of general public.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin.M.Choudhary; SSP Poonch, Vinay Kumar Sharma; ADDC Poonch, Sandesh Kumar Sharma; SDM Surankote, Rizwan Asgar; Tehsildar Surankote, Executive Engineers of different departments, district officers beside PRI’s and delegations from civil society were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner Secretary said that the government is organising Public Darbars to gather feedback from the public and PRI’s on the ground implementation of government schemes. He highlighted that a detailed report is to be submitted to concerned departments regarding various issues concerning them and follow up action will be conducted periodically.

The Commissioner Secretary during the sidelines of the darbar also inspected stalls set up by various departments and assessed the progress made under different schemes, focusing on achieving the predetermined targets. He enquired about the status of saturation levels achieved under various government schemes.

During the Public Darbar, various delegations raised their issues and grievances which received patient hearing from the chair.

The PRIs raised issues like establishment of industrial estate in Surankote, upgrading of old primary schools, upgradation of oxygen plant, upgradation of roads, restoration of Lift Schemes, connectivity of road to unconnected habitats and remote areas, provision of regular water supply, upgradation of schools, improving school infrastructure and rationalization of teaching staff in schools, filing of vacancies in PHC’s, regular power supply, installation of oxygen plant in SDH Surankote, construction of Trauma hospital in Bufliaz area of mughal road, establishment of anganwari centres ward wise in the area and other issues.

The Commissioner Secretary gave patient hearing to all the deputations, individuals and passed on spot directions to the concerned officers for resolving the issues.

He also assured the public that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a phased manner.
