GGHSS Satwari students imparted training on disaster management 

JAMMU, November 29: A special training session on disaster management was organised today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari by the 13th Battalion of National Disaster Response Force in collaboration with the district administration.

The training sessions was one of many being organised in different tehsils of the district with the aim of imparting knowledge and skills to the students and public on how to deal with various natural or man-made disasters and save lives and property.

ACG Jammu, Manisha graced the occasion as the chief guest. She praised the initiative of NDRF and district administration for conducting such programs to sensitise and equip the students and public for any emergency situations.

She said that disaster management is a collective responsibility of all and urged the students to share the learnings with their families and friends.

She also commended the work of NDRF in providing prompt and efficient response to various disasters in the country and said that they are the pride of the nation.

The training session was attended by the Principal of the school, staff members, NDRF personnel and a large number of students. The students were given live demo and hands-on practice on the basic concepts of disaster management, types of disasters, do’s and don’ts during disasters, first aid, fire safety, search and rescue techniques, etc.

The students also participated in various mock drills and demonstrations and showed enthusiasm and curiosity in learning the skills. They expressed their gratitude to the NDRF and district administration for organising such a beneficial and informative program.
