Chairperson DDC Udhampur inaugurates work on 2 vital Road Projects
UDHAMPUR, December 01: District Development Council Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand today inaugurated two projects viz Upgradation of road from T16-Choprashop to Sunari, Kambal Danga via Chak and construction work of 9.50 KM road from Tikri to Chirayi via Sukka Talab.
Former MoS, Pawan Kumar Gupta; BDC Chairperson of Block Udhampur, Balwan Singh and District Development Councillor Udhampur-I, Puran Chand were also present.
Sarpanch, Panchayat Chopra Shop, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Sunari, Hartaryan, and officials of PMGSY, including the superintending engineer, executive engineer, and junior engineer concerned were also present. The road from Tikri to Chirayi via Sukka Talab is being constructed at a cost of Rs 9 crore. BDC Chairperson Block Tikri, Nisha Sharma and District Development Councillor Tikri Ashu and other PRI members of the area.
The total length of the road from T16-Choprashop to Sunari, Kambal Danga via Chak is 12.925 KM. The road will be upgraded at an allotted cost of Rs. 1243.83 lakh for the construction part and Rs. 209.90 Lakh for the maintenance part, totaling Rs. 1453.73 lakh. The department has to complete the up-gradation work within the stipulated period of 18 months.
After the inauguration of the work, the chairperson congratulated the public of the area and informed them that road connectivity is a prerequisite for overall development and is the first priority of the government. He added that the road will provide better commutation facilities to the surrounding 15-20 panchayats. After the completion of the project, the logistics facilities and economic development in the area will be enhanced. The chairperson specially thanked MoS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh for sanctioning important projects which are the long pending demands of public of the area.
Ex-MoS, Pawan Kumar Gupta, BDC Chairperson, Balwan Singh and DDC Councillors Udhampur-I, Suran Chand also congratulated the public of the area for the development and urged the officials of the department to work with full zeal and honesty in order to maintain the quality of the work. The people of the area thanked the DDC Chairperson and other prominent people present there for their continuous efforts for the development of the area.
At the end of the event, the chairperson directed the officials to maintain the quality of the work and complete it within the stipulated period. He appreciated the efforts of all the PRI members present there and urged them to maintain the pace of developmental work in the area.
