Awareness programme under SVEEP held at GHSS Rajgarh, Gool

Day-long workshop organised for BLOs, BLAs under SSR

RAMBAN, December 02: District Election Department, Ramban, under the aegis of District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary today conducted a series of awareness activities on Special Summary Revision (SSR) 2023 under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme.         

The SVEEP activities under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls-2023, were organised at Government Higher Secondary Schools, Rajgarh and Gool to sensitize the students and for on-the–spot registration of eligible voters in the educational institutions and their Aadhar linkage.   During the camps, the forms of addition were also distributed and filled-in forms were received from the eligible voters.

Resource persons  threw light on various aspects of being a voter and urged the age-specific students who have attained 18 years or to attain 18 years  on 01.01.2024 to enroll themselves in the Electoral list, besides further disseminating the awareness among existing voters for modifications in the list, if any.

Meanwhile, Supervisors and Booth Level Officers of the Election Department took part in the Vikist Bharat Sankap Yatra events in various Panchayats of Block Khari and Ramsoo. They also administered pledges to participants to register themselves as a voter in Electoral Rolls, besides educating them about the online portal for registration of voters’ on the National Voters Service Portal (NVSP) and Mobile Voter Helpline App.

District Election Department organized also one day training-cum- coordination workshop for BLOs and BLAs at Banihal and Gool under ongoing Special Summary Revision, 2023  with the objective of preparing error-free electoral rolls with special focus on inclusion of new eligible voters, who are going to attain the voting age of 18 years on 1st of January 2024.

 The joint training session for BLOs and BLAs has been organized by the election Department so that their coordinated efforts can be instrumental in bridging the gap between the electoral machinery and political parties in preparing error-   free Photo Electoral Roll.
