BBBP: 84 Stationery kits distributed among girl students at Nadihal Bandipora
BANDIPORA, December 02: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) Bandipora Saturday distributed 84 stationary kits among the girl students of Girls High School Nadihal, Bandipora.
The stationery kits included school bags, pencils, tiffin boxes, water bottles besides other necessary stationery items.
It was given out that distribution of the kits is aimed at empowering the female folk of the society in the field of education. He said that the government has kept numerous schemes available for the welfare and upliftment of the girl child under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP).
Teachers besides students were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Aisha Shafi said that there should be no gender disparity in getting education, as education is the right of every child whether it is a girl or a boy. Every girl that receives education is more likely to make education a priority for her children as well.
Speakers including female teachers highlighted objectives of BBBP and stressed on girl education.
The objective of the scheme is to address issues from declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR), women empowerment, removal of gender inequality to protecting a girl child. The scheme also tries to ensure education of the girl child and her participation in the society.
