ACR inspects 25 Polling Stations in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, December 3: A team comprising  Assistant Commissioner Revenue, (Electoral Registration Officer, AC 59- Udhampur West and 60- Udhampur East) and AERO, Jai Singh today conducted an extensive inspection of 25 polling stations of Assembly Constituencies 59 (Udhampur West) and 60 (Udhampur East), sprawling in four Tehsils (Udhampur, Majalta, Panchari and Moungri) of Udhampur  district.

The focus of the inspection was on assessment of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) and other essential aspects, which are significant to see before any Election.

During the visit, ACR Udhampur actively inquired about the progress of electoral roll updates, emphasizing the crucial role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in this process. BLOs were given specific instructions to engage with the public and eligible youth, emphasizing the importance of ongoing special summary revision and striving to register all eligible voters by 9th of December, 2023.

Furthermore, BLOs received directives to ensure that their respective polling stations are well-equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) including provisions of drinking water, electricity, ramps, toilets, and suitable furniture.
