NC Central Zone celebrates birth anniversary of Jb Sheikh Abdullah with specially-abled children

Sher-e-Kashmir laid strong foundation of brotherhood in J&K: Sadhotra

JAMMU, December 23: In connection with the celebration of the 118th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Kashmir Jenab Sheikh Abdullah, the National Conference Central Zone (Jammu, Samba & Kathua) distributed eatables and other items among the specially-abled children, here today.

Former Minister and NC Additional General Secretary, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra was the chief guest on the occasion whereas NC Provincial Joint Secretary, Ankush Abrol presided over. The programme was organized by Coordinator Jammu District Urban and Secretary Central Zone JKNC, Dr Vikas Sharma.

Sadhotra expressed happiness that he got the opportunity to celebrate the birth anniversary of Sheikh Sahib with the specially-abled children. Terming Sher-e-Kashmir as towering personality, he lauded the vision of Sheikh Sahib which laid the strong foundation of Jammu & Kashmir.

“He played an important role in the integration of Muslim majority J&K with the India and made it the crown of our country. Nobody can forget contributions made by him in the socio-economic development of the people of J&K,” he mentioned. 

“Sheikh Abdullah laid emphasis on the philosophy mutual brotherhood and peaceful co-existence of all the people in Jammu & Kashmir. His philosophy is still relevant and will remain so in future as well. He was the visionary leader who gave right of land ownership to the poor tiller,” he said.

He emphasized upon the need to carry forward the agenda of inclusive development of Sheikh Abdullah with special focus on the upliftment of poor and deprived classes besides special care for the specially-abled people.

Among those who were present on the occasion included,  Sandesh Shan, Dr Rajesh Singh, Dr NK Sharma, Vikshay Vashist, Mohd. Umar, Ashish Sharma, Ram Singh, Abhishek Uppal, Bhushan, Munari Singh, Rohit and others.
