A Five-Day Faculty Development Workshop at the Department of Mathematics Concludes
JAMMU, January 20: A Five-Day Workshop on Analysis and its Applications organized by the Department of Mathematics, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Centre and funded by RUSA, during January 16 – 20, 2023 concluded today.
The workshop had 24 one-hour talks given by eminent mathematicians Prof. IndrajitLahiri from the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, Prof Hares V. Dedanian from Sardar Patel University Gujrat, Prof S. K. Mishra from Banaras Hindu University, Prof. Swadesk K. Sahoo from IIT Indore, Dr. KrihanenduGangopadhyay from IISER Mohali, Dr. A. Sairam Kaliraj from IIT Ropar and Dr. Tanmay Sarkar from IIT Jammu.
This workshop was attended by 52 participants comprising faculty members and research scholars from the University of Jammu, University of Kashmir, SMVD University, Central University of Jammu, Central University of Kashmir, Cluster University of Jammu, National Institute of Technology Srinagar, Sangam University, Rajasthan and Affiliated colleges of the University of Jammu.
The aim of organizing this workshop was to update our teachers and research scholars about recent developments in Analysis and to give them the right directions for further studies in some of the areas of Complex Analysis and Functional Analysis. The resource persons started from the very basics of their subject of expertise and went on to the latest thrust areas for future research and teaching of Mathematics.
The workshop was inaugurated on January 16, 2023 by the Dean Faculty of Mathematical Sciences Prof. Rahul Gupta in the presence of Prof. Sandeep Pandita Director HRDC, Prof Satya Pal, Coordinator RUSA, Prof Swadesh K. Sahoo(IIT Indore), Prof. K. S. Charak, HOD Mathematics and convener of the Workshop, Dr. Shallu Sharma Organizing Secretary of the workshop.
