National Lok Adalat: 2292 cases settled, Rs 2 cr realised as settlement amount
UDHAMPUR, December 9: In Compliance to the directions of Jammu & Kashmir Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat was held today in the District Court complex Udhampur under the Chairmanship of Mr. Haq Nawaz Zargar (Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur) and supervision of Mr. Ajay Kumar, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Udhampur.
The National Lok Adalat took up different kind of cases through 8 Benches. Bench No. 1 comprised of Mr. Haq Nawaz Zargar, Pr. District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur and Mr. Dinesh Gupta, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Udhampur; Bench No. 2 comprised of Mr. Slahuddin Ahmed, Sub Judge/ Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur and Adv. Mr. Mallikarjun Singh Slathia, Panel Lawyer Udhampur; Bench No. 3 comprised of Mr. Vishal Bharti, Distt. Mobile Magistrate (T), Udhampur and Adv. Mr. Akhil Dubey Panel Lawyer, Udhampur; Bench No. 4 comprised of Ms. Bhanu Bhasin, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Udhampur and Adv. Ms. Shallu Khajuria Udhampur; Bench No. 5 comprised of Mr. Raj Kumar (Chairman TLSC) Ramnagar and Advocate Mr. K.D. Sharma, TLSC Ramnagar; Bench No. 6 comprised of Ms. Madhu Sharma (Chairman TLSC, Majalta) & Adv. Mohan Lal Gupta, Panel Lawyer Majalta; Bench No. 7 comprised of Ms. Rekha Sharma (Munsiff) JMIC Chenani and Adv. Mr. Balwan Singh (Panel Lawyer) Chenani. Bench No. 8 comprised of Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur and Adv. Mr. Nikhileshwar Singh Panel Lawyer Udhampur.
A total of 2872 cases of different nature were taken up, out of which 2292 were settled, realizing a settlement amount of Rs. 20991807/-.
Bench No. 8 headed by Assistant Labour Commissioner Udhampur Mr. Pradyot Gupta, disposed of 3 cases awarding Rs.30.10 Lakh and Rs. 8,50,000 to the dependents of deceased Gh. Rasool who had died in a road accident during the course of employment.
