District Admin Doda addresses community concerns at Udhyanpur at Weekly Block Diwas camp

DODA, December 13: The district administration Doda organized a public outreach program at Government High School Udhyanpur in Block Dali-Udhyanpur here under the aegis of weekly block Diwas. The program aimed to connect with local residents and understand their issues, demands, and grievances to ensure timely solutions. District Development Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, alongside various district officers, led the initiative to engage with the community directly.

During the event, several government-sponsored scheme stalls were set up to showcase various welfare programs. The Deputy Commissioner inspected the stalls, emphasizing the importance of these schemes in uplifting the community. The event also witnessed the presence of senior district and sector officers and other officials, who  addressed the public grievances and created awareness about different welfare schemes available for individuals and the community.

Numerous concerns were raised by the public, touching upon critical matters such as water and electricity supply, the need for electric pole installations, transformer upgradation, better school infrastructure, improved road connectivity, and healthcare center enhancements. Notably, members of PRIs, BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councillors, Sarpanchs, Panches, and the general public actively participated in these discussions, ensuring a holistic representation of community concerns.

During his address, the DC highlighted the need for winter preparedness for road connectivity and urged the PDD department to replace wooden poles to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. Additionally, he emphasized completing execution works within the stipulated time and enhancing connectivity to local tourist spots to boost tourism in the district. The DC also stressed the importance of punctuality in school hours and addressed issues related to staffing for schools.

The Block Diwas event witnessed significant community participation, offering residents a direct platform to voice their concerns to district officers. This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring efficient and responsive governance, striving to deliver government services and benefits promptly to the people of Doda without unnecessary delays.
