Secretary Health participates in Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Samba
SAMBA, DECEMBER 14: Secretary Health & Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, today visited Panchayat Chak Dulma in Rajpura block as part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide campaign to spread awareness and ensure saturation of various flagship schemes of the government.
District Development Council (DDC) members, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and locals of the area were present on the occasion.
He inspected the stalls set up by various departments to showcase their achievements and services. He also interacted with the beneficiaries and scheme implementers and appreciated their efforts.
The event commenced with a cultural programme by the students of various government schools, followed by the Prime Minister’s message played through the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) van.
Secretary along with the officers of District Administration Samba, DDC members, PRIs, and locals, actively took part in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge, reaffirming their commitment towards development of the nation.
The yatra also featured a segment called ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubaani’, where the beneficiaries of various schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), UMEED, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PM MVY), etc. shared their success stories and experiences.
A documentary screening of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was also held to educate the citizens about the various flagship schemes and their benefits. Besides, quiz on the schemes was conducted, and the winners were felicitated with certificates.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary stated that the yatra aimed to ensure the saturation and awareness of the schemes among the people.
He said that the Yatra’s primary goal is to ensure every citizen benefits from government flagship schemes. He highlighted the IEC Van’s role in spreading awareness and emphasized the need to bring schemes to citizens’ doorsteps. Urging active participation in India’s developmental journey, he encouraged all to leverage government schemes for their welfare.
Secretary praised the beneficiaries for sharing their stories and expressed his satisfaction with the impact of PM’s schemes in the remote border areas. He also highlighted Jammu and Kashmir as a shining example of the success of Ayushman Bharat, which has reduced the out-of-pocket expenditure of the households for medical care. He further added that AIIMS would benefit the residents of Samba and appreciated the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Samba and other organisers for the event.
Bhupinder Kumar handed over the Abhinandan Patra to Pani Samitis under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He also felicitated the sports persons and women achievers who have brought laurels to the district and the state in various competitions. Besides, sanction letters were distributed to the beneficiaries of Agriculture department.
This momentous day signifies a remarkable expansion of coverage to 93 panchayats in Samba district.
