The Law School, University of Jammu organises Interactive Session For Internship Programme with CID Officials

The Law School, University Jammu organized an interactive session  for Internship Programme of the students of the law school on 18th December, 2023.

Jammu, December 18: The session commenced with warm welcome address by  Prof. Manju Jamwal, Director ,The Law School, who introduced Sh. Nitish Kumar IPS, Inspector General of Police CID, Sh. Rajeshwar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police and  Sh. Zahid Mir, Senior Prosecuting Officer  from the CID, Headquarters Jammu and Kashmir. She lauded the CID wing of police department for taking the initiative to continue with the internship program for the students which will provide golden opportunities in their career prospects and would enrich their understanding of the complexities within the realm of law enforcement. .

 Inspector General of Police, CID Mr, Nitish Kumar shared insights into the department’s diverse functions, ranging from crime scene investigation and forensic analysis to cybercrime investigation and counter-terrorism operations.He further added that such internship programmes provide valuable opportunity for the law students to learn about the latest legal technology trends that can be used to improve their legal skills. Senior Prosecuting Officer Mr. Zahid Mir shed light on the modalities of the internship programme.

The session concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Seema Sharma, Associate Professor, who expressed gratitude to the CID officials for sharing their knowledge and expertise and especially efforts initiated by Sh Nitish Kumar to ignite the minds of the young budding upcoming advocates through such insightful programmes. Programme was coordinated by Ms. Ishita Bandral  and attended by the students as well as all the teachers of the Law School. Overall, the interactive session cum internship programme served as a bridge between the academic world of law and the dynamic realm of criminal investigation, leaving a lasting impression on the young law students.
