DDC reviews progress of developmental works in Samba district

SAMBA, December 19: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba Abhishek Sharma today presided over a meeting with officers to review the status of projects being executed under District Capex, UT Capex and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) etc.

The concerned functionaries of the line departments provided a detailed sector-wise overview of different works being executed and presented in-depth details of the progress achieved so far.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the expenditure status of all departments and directed the officers to complete the remaining ongoing developmental works at the earliest.

Asking for optimum utilization of funds, he directed the officers to gear up pace to complete the developmental works within the current financial year as per the financial rules. He also directed to ensure that the works are accelerated to create tangible results on ground.

To focus on 100% utilization along with physical achievements, a review of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was also held. It was directed to converge Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra with “Yuva Vani” programme under Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP).

The DYSSO, CEO and heads of Higher Education Institutions were asked to encourage the youth for startups in agriculture and allied sectors.

He also reviewed JJM schemes and directed concerned Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department to complete the schemes and ensure 100% saturation of functional household tap connections.

He also directed the concerned officers to resolve the issues raised by PRIs during a public darbar held by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, Sheetal Nanda at the earliest.

Reviewing the implementation of road safety measures, the DDC  directed Executive Engineer PWD division Vijaypur to expedite the pace of works in the accident-prone area.

Present in the meeting were ADDC, Rajinder Singh; PO, ICDS  Dr. Subhash; CPO, Kasturi lal and other concerned District and Sectoral Officers.
