Two-Day Collaborative International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals Concludes at Jammu University

Jammu, December 22: The two-day collaborative international conference on “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals in Post-COVID-19 World: Regional Challenges, Opportunities and Policy Options” organized by Department of Economics in collaboration with the Indian Council of World Affairs, New Delhi, and the Indian Council of Social Science Research, North Western Regional Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh concludes today at University of Jammu. In the valedictory function, Prof. Rahul Gupta, Registrar, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest, while Prof. Dalip Kumar from Department of Economics, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi was the Guest of Honour. The Key Note speech on the topic ‘Synergy of Skill Development in India: The Imperative for Abating Poverty and Income Inequalities in Consonance with the Spirit of Sustainable Development Goals’ was delivered by Prof. Vikram Chadha, Former Professor and Head, Punjab School of Economics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab. Prof. Sunita Devi Sharma, the Head, Department of Economics presented the welcome remarks, the conference convener Prof. Falendra Kumar presented the conference’s report, Prof. Jasbir Singh, the Conference Coordinator discussed about the significance of this collaborative conference, Dr. Manoj Bhatt presented the vote of thanks and Dr. Shallu Sehgal conducted the proceedings.

The faculty members and research scholars of the Department of Economics were also present.
