DIC Reasi empowers Local Artisans through PM Vishwakarma Scheme

REASI, DECEMBER 22:- The District Industries Centre  Reasi organized a significant awareness program here in the BDO office to enlighten the general public about the benefits and opportunities offered under the Central Sector Scheme, PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Under the leadership of GM DIC Mohammad Anwar Banday, the awareness programme unfolded as a platform to educate and uplift local artisans and craftsmen. The focus was to illuminate the numerous advantages inherent in the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, tailored specifically to strengthen and empower traditional artisans.

At the outset, the awareness programme was provided with the comprehensive overview of the benefits that the scheme entails to empower traditional artisans and the craftspeople. The scheme provides toolkit incentive of Rs.15000, Rs 500 per day during training, credit facilities to the beneficiaries up to 1 lakh (first tranche) and 2 Lakh (second tranche) at a concessional interest rate of 5% including an in depth training to upgrade their skills.

The event also facilitated on-the-spot registration, resulting in the successful enrollment of 30 beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Functional Manager DIC Ankur Kalotra, expressed enthusiasm about the overwhelming local community response. He underscored the scheme’s commitment to empowering and nurturing the talents of traditional artisans, acknowledging their pivotal role in preserving our cultural heritage.

On the occasion, BDO Reasi Ram Paul Bhagat and a large number of people were present.
