PM Modi’s ‘Ab Ki Baar 50% Vote Paar’ slogan is “arrogance”: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 23 (ANI): Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Saturday termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of ‘Ab Ki Baar 50% Vote Paar’ (this time more than 50 per cent vote) given to BJP workers as “arrogance and overconfidence” that the voters will give a befitting reply.

PM Modi gave the slogan during a BJP office-bears meeting in the party headquarters in the national capital on Friday, setting a target of a big win for the party in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

“I would like to remind him (PM Modi) that whenever someone has tried to become bigger than democracy, the public has taught a lesson. This is the overconfidence of the BJP. This is why they suspended the opposition members from the parliament. They introduce new bills in the House and the discussion takes place as per their wishes,” Priyanka Chaturvedi said here.

Priyanka Chaturvedi said that the slogan embodies the arrogance of the BJP and the voters will give a befitting reply to it. She said that the INDIA bloc parties have not set any targets for winning seats in the 2024 general election.

She said that she is not an astrologer to predict how many seats the INDIA alliance will get in the election.

Priyanka Chaturvedi also criticised Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust Champat Rai for not inviting her party leaders to the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“He (Champat Rai) has become so politically motivated that even Shiv Sena was not invited for the temple consecration ceremony. Who can forget Balasahe Thackeray, who has made a big contribution to the Ram temple movement?” she asked.

Meanwhile, Champat Rai said on Saturday that the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla at the shrine would mark the restoration of India’s honour.

Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Rai said, “The eventual installation of the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple will give me a feeling of immense satisfaction. I believe that the strides we have made so far in raising the temple mark the restoration of India’s honour.”

He added that the people involved in achieving this milestone were akin to the unheralded crusaders for the country’s independence.

“All those who fought for the temple are just as important to the country as the ones who fought for our independence in 1947. The people of Ayodhya, erstwhile princely states in our neighbourhood, and seers from all over the country came together for the Ram Temple movement post-1983. The issue of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, in time, came to be synonymous with our national pride and prestige,” Rai told ANI.
