One Day ‘Yuva Vani’ Orientation Programme held in GDC Vijaypur, Ramgarh
SAMBA, DECEMBER 27: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government Degree College Vijaypur in collaboration with NSS Unit (Khidmat) of the college organised the programme ‘Yuva Vani: One Day Orientation Programme as a Follow-Up of Kisan Sampark Abhiyaan under Viksit Bharat@2047. Officials from the Department of Agriculture district Samba acquaint the students and faculty of the college about holistic development of agriculture and the various schemes where students and general populace can earn a livelihood and create employment for the common populace.
The resource persons from the APD who spoke on the occasion were Dr. Yog Raj Sharma (JAEO Agriculture), Dr. Gulshan Sharma (JAEO Agriculture), Dr. Anil (VAS), Dr. Rakesh (Horticulture), Dr. J.P. Sumbria (Sheep Husbandry), Dushyant Singh (Employment Exchange) and Dr. Vishav Vir Singh (Agriculture).
They briefed the students about various agriculture operational schemes giving subsidies to the farmers. Dr. Rahul Dev (CAHO Samba) explained students about DAKSH KISAN Portal and briefed the students about the enrollment process. A progressive farmer Baldev Raj Singh also gave a motivational and encouraging speech to the students on opting farming as a profession.
Principal of the college Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Gupta along with senior faculty members Prof. Anita Jamwal and Prof. Anoop Kumar Bhagat, large number of students including staff members of the college participated in this one-day programme.
Similar program was organised by Government Degree College, Ramgarh in collaboration with District Administration, Samba to highlight Business oppurtunities for Youth under HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Program).
The program was organised under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College, who welcomed the team of Resource Persons from various departments and appreciated their efforts to apprise the students about the various schemes available for the Youth to become self-reliant and self-sufficient.
On this occasion, a team consisting of members from different departments like agriculture, horticulture, sheep husbandry and animal husbandry of Ramgarh block of district Samba visited the college and informed the students that the aim of Holistic Agriculture Development Program is to increase agricultural production, strengthen agricultural developmental activities, and employment generation in rural areas by making youth self-dependent and self-reliant. They educated the students about the various start-up programs of government, different schemes such as integrated dairy development schemes, Maitri schemes, Subsidy schemes and Kisan Credit Card etc.
The team also inspired the students to promote organic farming and also taught them the ways to prepare organic fertilizers. After the interactive session the team helped more than 25 students to get enrolled under various schemes on the Daksh Portal.
