Director Agriculture visits Vegetable SMF Tappar, Baramulla

Says, departmental farms are the potential sources of revenue, employment generation

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 30: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited Seed Multiplication Farm (SMF) Tapper, Baramulla, inspected different blocks of the farm and took stock of different Agriculture activities.

Speaking to the staff and technical experts of SMF Tappar, Director said that the department is implementing a prestigious initiative and is endeavouring to optimize the utility of departmental farms to attain self-reliance in the field of seed requirement for Kashmir Division.

He said the department has already fixed targets for the year 2024-25 under HADP.

After visiting different farms during recent times, he said they are satisfied and optimistic to achieve targets in an effective, comprehensive manner. He also highlighted the importance of departmental farms and said these farms are the source for revenue, employment generation.

Director Agriculture said that the department is executing a multi-disciplinary plan to transform all the departmental farms into revenue earning and employment generating assets.
