Much awaited Health & Wellness Centre commissioned at Singhpora – Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, DECEMBER 30: Marking a significant milestone, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav inaugurated the much awaited Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Singhpora of Sub Division Chatroo.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of ADDC Sham Lal; Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal; SDM Chatroo Shokat Hayat Mattoo; GM NHIDCL GS Sangha; CMO, Dr. M Y Mir; CEO Prehlad Bhagat; CAO Amjad Hussain Malik; CHO Sajjid Mustafa; BMO Chatroo Dr. Saima alongside PRIs and local residents.

Initiated by health department in 2008, the completion of the Health and Wellness Centre faced certain challenges, leading to halt from 2009 to 2023. However, overcoming these hurdles, the center has now been successfully completed and inaugurated, marking a crucial healthcare advancement for the local populace. Resources were pooled from CSR of NHIDCL and District capex to complete balance work.

This auspicious day also coincides with the Superannuation of CMO Kishtwar, Dr. M Y Mir. The collective attendance of the entire administrative team at Chatroo to commemorate this event stands as a heartwarming gesture and a token of appreciation for the retiring CMO from the Administration.

The Health and Wellness Centre is well-equipped to meet the long-awaited healthcare necessities of the local community. Boasting a supply of medicines, qualified medical practitioners, nurses, and provisions for facilitating deliveries, the centre stands as a beacon of accessible healthcare at residents’ access.

During the inauguration, the people of Singhpora expressed their gratitude towards DC Kishtwar and CMO Kishtwar for their efforts in completing this vital centre, highlighting its role in addressing local health and emergency requirements.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar emphasized the center’s readiness, ensuring adequate medical supplies and trained staff. He urged residents to actively utilize the available healthcare facilities and assured that further infrastructural requirements would be considered under the Capex Budget.
