GDC Ramgarh organises 3-Day computer workshop for Punjabi Department students

SAMBA, DECEMBER 30: The Department of Punjabi, Government Degree College, Ramgarh, organised a three day skill workshop for the students of Punjabi on “Computer Typing in Punjabi Language”, under the guidance and supervision of the college Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra.  The skill based workshop on Computer Typing in Punjabi Language started on 28th of December and culminated successfully today with the distribution of Certificates to the students on completion of the course.

At the outset, the Principal applauded the efforts by Dr. Snobar, HOD, Department of Punjabi, for such an initiative with the motive of upgrading the skills of the students in regional language. She added that this skill course in Computer Typing in Punjabi Language shall provide immense opportunity to the students to use this skill for personal growth and as a professional qualification.

The aim of the workshop was to help students in acquiring a new skill which shall boost their confidence and further help in making them self-reliant. Moreover, the workshop also served the purpose of Viksit Bharat @2047 in helping students to come out of the colonial mindset and achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat.

The workshop started with the introductory lecture by Dr. Snobar on the relevance and applicability of learning a skill in Punjabi language as a career opportunity. She informed the students that learning this skill will benefit them in multiple ways. They can also earn while they learn. She educated the students that this will help them in writing literary works such as poems, novels,articles etc. publishing and writing thesis or dissertation in Punjabi language. The special thanks were conveyed to Vikas Malmotra for technical assistance in the workshop.

The faculty members who were present in the workshop are Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Bram Dutt, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Ms. Priya Sharma, Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmed, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Dr. Ekta Rani,  Fayaz Ahmed,  Sonali Dutta, Akansha, Anil Kumar,  Ram Murti, and  Sunil Kumar.
