108 notorious bovine smugglers held in 11 months across Samba: SSP Benam Tosh
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Manzoor Ali s/o Sultan Din r/o Mangloor district Kathua, Gafoor Din s/o Sharif Din r/o Jhanda district Samba and Sain Mohd s/o Satu Din r/o Mohargarh district Samba. 2 bovine smugglers namely Gafoor and Sain have been arrested in FIR registered at Police Station Samba, whereas the third accused namely Manzoor has been arrested in FIR registered at Police Station Ghagwal through Police Post Rajpura.
Six cases — FIR No. 117/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 118/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No.121/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 122/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No.296/2023 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act of PS Samba and FIR numbers 315/2023 u/s 188 IPC of PS Samba have been registered and police raids are underway to arrest all accused.
According to SSP Samba Benam Tosh, 108 notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in the past 11 months after the launch of the special drive, 89 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, 77 vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and 838 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
