ADDC Baramulla chairs DLEPC meeting

BARAMULLA, January 04: In a pivotal move towards enhancing export prospects, District Level Export Promotion Committee (DLEPC) meeting was Thursday convened under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf at conference hall DC Office here.

The meeting focused on reviewing and approving the District Export Action Plan (DEAP) for Baramulla district.

Consultant Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) gave a comprehensive presentation and outlined both hard and soft measures essential for increasing exports. The discussion centered on products identified under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, with a special emphasis on making Baramulla a distinguished Export Hub for items such as apples and carpets.

During the meeting, ADDC Baramulla urged committee members to carefully scrutinize the draft export action plan prepared by JKTPO and provide valuable suggestions. Stressing the need for realistic data, he highlighted the importance of incorporating accurate production and export figures to finalize potential export products for district Baramulla.

ADDC further directed the JKTPO team to conduct a physical survey of the district to gather precise information on production trends and other relevant data concerning the export of products identified by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

General Manager District Industries Centre Baramulla (DIC), Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Assistant Director Handicrafts, Handloom, Area Marketing Officer HP&M Baramulla, DDM NABARD and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

The meeting marks a crucial step towards fortifying Baramulla’s position in the global market and fostering economic growth through strategic export planning.
