DC Leh chairs meeting to review PM Vishwakarma Scheme implementation
LEH, January 6: Deputy Commissioner, Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting to review the implementation of PM Vishwakarma Scheme on January 5 in the VC Room of DC office Leh.
Industrial Promotion Officer, Mohd Zakiria, provided insights, stating that 231 applications were filed, with 45 pending in Gram Panchayats.
At the local bodies level, 184 applicants were verified, and approximately 161 were registered on the GeM portal. Out of these, 136 applications were forwarded to MSME, with 91 successfully registered in Gram Panchayats.
DC Leh Sukhadeve directed Block Development Officers to promptly resolve registration issues and ensure swift benefits distribution. The meeting also addressed Aadhar updation and Common Service Centre matters in vibrant villages.
Panchayat Secretaries were instructed to register from the 9th onward for Sarpanch posts. Emphasizing support for artisans, especially women in handicrafts, DC urged officers to facilitate machinery and equipment access.
The meeting was Joint Director MSME – DFO, Jammu; General Manager, DIC, Leh; Assistant Director, Handicraft, Leh; Superintendent Handloom, Leh; Block Development Officers, and Panchayat Secretaries. Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Leh, and District Manager, CSC, Leh, also actively participated.
