6 arrested, six vehicles seized in Baramulla’s anti-mining crackdown by police
In a strong crackdown on illegal mining activities, the Baramulla Police on Sunday dealt a blow to the illicit trade, apprehending six drivers involved in the extraction and transportation of minerals from ecologically sensitive areas.

Police successfully seized three tippers and three tractors engaged in unauthorized mineral extraction at Ferozpora Nallah Kunzer and Shrai Tangmarg areas of Baramulla district.
Cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at the respective police stations against all six individuals. Investigations are currently underway to uncover the extent of the illegal mining operation and identify any other individuals involved.
