Reasi Police tightens noose on Bovine Smuggling; accused held with 5 cattle

REASI, 8 January 2024: Continuing the special drive against the bovine smuggler Reasi Police foiled bovine smuggling at Dera Baba, during Naka checking at Dera Baba, two vehicles bearing registration number JK02CS-9920 driven by Rafaqit Ali S/O Mohd Shafi R/O Chapped tehsil Dansal and district Jammu alongwith Manzoor Hussain S/O Taj Din R/O Keri Parthal Tehsil Katra District Reasi was intercepted for checking and found 1 bovine animal and JK20B-3706 driven by driver namely Mohd Zabir S/O Abdul Husain R/O Thuroo Tehsil Thuroo District Reasi was intercepted for checking and found 02 bovine animals, which were being transported illegally without DM permission.

In this cognizance 2 FIRs were Registered as a case FIR number 06/2024 under Section 188/IPC at Police Station Reasi and FIR number 07/2024 under Section 188/IPC at Police Station Reasi, vehicles were seized and the investigation started.

In another incident, a Police team of Pouni foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 2 bovine animals from the clutches of the accused person namely Balvinder Kumar S/O Madan Lal R/O Kathar, Akhnoor, District Jammu, who was carrying 2 bovine animals by foot from Jammu District to Rajouri via Pouni.

In this regard, a case FIR number 02/2024 U/S 188/IPC, 11(1)(a) PCA Act got registered at P/S Pouni. The accused was arrested and an investigation is going on.
